Pinball M is a spinoff of the Pinball FX series, designed to provide a separate platform for tables whose content would necessitate an M rating. The game released in late 2023 on all major consoles.
Overview[]
Pinball M entered development shortly after the Pinball FX reboot was released to consoles. Unlike the reboot, Pinball M doesn't have a Pinball Pass option available - tables can only be purchased directly. The game features tokens as an in-game currency, but they are earned naturally by playing the tables and can't be purchased through other means.
Pinball M also introduces an updated UI from the prior titles. The leveling system from Pinball FX 3 makes its return in M, alongside table masteries encouraging further exploration of every featured pinball table, and "campaign modes" played across several challenge modes in a set order. Advancing through the campaign allows the player to modify their tables' play corners, alongside the tables themselves.
Tables[]
Five tables have currently been released for Pinball M:
- Wrath of the Elder Gods: Director's Cut: Base table, available for unlimited free play. An enhanced version of the Wrath of the Elder Gods table from the Pinball FX reboot, with improved lighting and audio.
- Chucky's Killer Pinball: Based on the Child's Play film series, primarily the first four films. Killer doll Chucky has arranged a series of deadly games - the player must survive them to fend him off before attempting to kill him once and for all.
- Dead by Daylight: A pinball adaptation of the video game, Dead by Daylight. Players choose between playing either as survivor or killer, with the respective goal of maintaining all five generators or killing all four survivors.
- Duke Nukem's Big Shot Pinball: The humor and aesthetic of the PC hit Duke Nukem 3D, alongside its two episodic expansions, are featured in this intense & difficult pinball adaptation. Take on big bosses with balls of steel!
- The Thing: Retells the story of the original The Thing film. R.J. MacReady and a group of researchers are sent to Antarctica, where they encounter an alien being with the power to assimilate other organisms, as distrust causes the group to fall into despair.
